The first course to become a Veterinary Technician

ABIVET Società Benefit a R.L. is the first veterinary services company in Europe to acquire the status of benefit company in its statute, to once again underline its predisposition to transparency and to the interest in animals and people. Founded in Rome in 1992 by Dr. Maurizio Albano, veterinary surgeon. The first two-year course for veterinary technicians was born in March 2001. The training course is ACOVENE accredited – Accreditation Committee for Veterinary Nurse Education (www.acovene.eu ), recognized by the ANMVI – National Association of Italian Veterinary Doctors, is certified by RIINA according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard, and also includes the certification of skills and training by CEPAS Bureau Veritas certified according to the standard ISO/IEC 17024:2004 / ACCREDIA which offers the possibility to all certified veterinary technicians to have a greater marketability of their title by inserting their name in the list of certified veterinary technicians (list that can be consulted both nationally and internationally) and is in line with what is reported in the UNI Reference Practice 45/2018. Our professional training course was the only one in Italy a be part of the European standards quality certification program, and at the end of March 2007 it obtained the certification (www.acovene.eu ; www.vetnnet.com). In October 2008, ABIVET obtained recognition from Eurispes Italia and was included in the 3rd report on Italian excellence. The Veterinary Technician is a worker able to assist the Doctor Veterinarian, according to his instructions, during the delivery of medical-surgical services, in the organization of the structure e in managing the relationship with the customer and his animal.
